Getting There
I now have six songs complete. They are a total of 27 minutes, and two of the songs have (terrible) vocals. Last night, I started on a 7th song which I will hopefully finish tonight. I might just make this deadline.

Home Stretch
This will not be easy.
I have about a million things to do this weekend in addition to finishing the album. However, I am fully determined to get this bad boy done and out the door by April 1st.

Moar Album Progress
I now have about 4 songs done coming in at around 20 minutes or so. It looks like that’s about half-way done. Two of these songs will have lyrics and vocals.
All four of the songs are of completely different genres. There is a downtempo/chillout type song, a gothic doom metal song, a hardcore song (like real hardcore type stuff), and a chiptune track. This album is shaping up to be an extremely eclectic collection.

New Album Progress
Today, I wrote and recorded an entire song for my March challenge album. I also started two other songs; so, it seems that I’m making decent progress. This release will be eclectic to say the least. It will be interesting to see how all of this fits together in the end.

Album Update
It turns out that I haven’t particularly had an overabundance of free time this month. As such, I haven’t been able to work on the album to be released on April 1st. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s not happening. It just means that it might not turn out to be too grandiose. I’m hoping to do a little work on it this weekend, perhaps get a song or two completed. Wish me luck!

March Challenge
Well, since I started referring to this place over on orderoftyr.com, I should probably update a little bit.
I’m doing an exercise in creativity for myself during the month of March. I will be attempting to write, record, mix, and release a xeraen album by April 1st. These are definitely new waters for me as the only full album that I’ve ever had a large hand in working on was Order of Týr’s The Wizard’s War.
I know that I won’t have a great deal of time to devote to this, so I will have to make due with what music comes out, and truly, that is the whole point of this little challenge. I want to see what unfiltered, unadulterated music coming from me sounds like.
So check back often as I will try to have somewhat regular updates here with more milestone-type updates over on orderoftyr.com.

Stream of Consciousness in the Form of Music
This project is for the music that comes out of me but does not fit (or I choose not to use) with my other bands (Order of Týr & Etheria).
As such, xeraen may be a consistently inconsistent experience. I listen to and am inspired by many different kinds of music and art. Thus, each of these have an influence on me, some more heavily than others depending upon what I’m immersing myself in at the time of my writing.
I truly hope that enjoy that which comes of this project as I am quite interested to see what manifests.
